The 4th DBI Gathering took place in Perth on 26th October 2017. This twice yearly Gathering brings all of those involved in the DBI Programme nationally and locally together with key collaborators. DBI Gatherings help strengthen collaborative links with local partnership leads to ensure strong linkage across the programme delivery. The Gathering marked a number of key landmarks with Lanarkshire DBI service commencing in June 2017, with the learning from the controlled testing now supporting the incremental ‘roll out’ in Aberdeen, Inverness and Scottish Borders since October 2017, with all sites ‘live’ and now delivering DBI. In addition, all four key front-line DBI level 1 service pathways (Emergency Departments, Primary Care, Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service) are now ‘live’ in at least one of the test site regions. All sites are now incrementally increasing the scale of DBI, through the DBI implementation plans.
The Gathering provided an opportunity for the programme board, partnership leads and infrastructure leads to provide an update. Please click on pictures below to open weblink:

In addition, we heard from two DBI collaborators, firstly Blythe Robertson the Policy Lead for Health Literacy at the Scottish Government, highlighting how health literacy approaches have been factored into DBI from the start and DBI is featuring in ‘Making it Easier: A Health Literacy Action Plan for Scotland 2017-2025.
We also heard from Wendy Halliday (Assistant Director, Programmes), who shared how See Me Scotland have met with the DBI programme board, produced a joint paper and are committed to collaborate on the overarching objectives to reduce stigma and discrimination in health and Social Care Setting.
