The Scottish Government’s DBI programme is now being delivered across four test regions of Scotland (Aberdeen, Inverness, Scottish Borders and Lanarkshire). Robin from the mental health charity Penumbra, who are the lead agency in Aberdeen, interviews two people about Distress Brief Intervention (DBI), a new initiative which provides quick, connected and compassionate support to people experiencing distress in the community. Shot over just one day, this five minute video asks: what is DBI, and how does it help people? To answer this question, Dr Alasdair Jamieson, GP and James Murray from Penumbra kindly took time out of their busy schedules to reflect on the first six months of the service.
